Candidates applying for this position must have at least Two (02) Years of experience in court reporting and hold the certification as a National Court Reports Association (NCRA) Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) or equivalent (i.e., certified by the state of performance, another appropriate licensure, certification, or proof of education). Proper credentials must be provided within one week upon request of the client.Requires accurately reporting (taking down steno) legal proceedings at speeds of 225 words per minute and translating takedown from steno to English.Working knowledge of legal and medical terminology, correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and theories and principles of basic mathematics.Knowledge and understanding of laws, rules, and regulations governing court reporting profession and transcription activities, policies, and procedures.
