AP seeks a Counsel – Litigation to join its growing legal department. AP’s legal team serves a dynamic business that has skyrocketed from a start-up in 2011 to a $2.7 billion company in 2024 with more than 10,000 employees across the United States and Europe. AP needs a skilled, adaptable lawyer with a keen business mind to help fuel its continued success and its pursuit of IPO readiness as part of the next chapter of its journey.

 

This role will sit in AP’s corporate headquarters in downtown Orlando, Florida and report to the VP & Associate General Counsel – Litigation, Claims & Employment.  

 

What You'll Do

Counsel – Litigation will be responsible for supporting operational partners across the country by working on litigation and pre-litigation matters. This position will also serve as a liaison between operational partners and outside counsel to help manage AP’s external partners and drive successful litigation and pre-litigation outcomes.

Strategic litigation support and management across a range of commercial disputes (restrictive covenants, employment, errors & omissions, contract disputes, privacy-related litigation, etc.)Conduct evaluations, investigations, and research on litigation and pre-litigation mattersProvide advice and counsel to operational teams on a range of issues involved with legal disputesDevelop and execute on legal hold strategies and best practicesConduct/support e-discovery efforts and analysis of forensic dataDraft a wide range of agreements, including employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, severance agreements, etc. Work on projects to ensure company agreements, policies and practices are tracking developments and changes in federal and state lawsWork on cross-functional projects with other corporate teams, including finance and HRInvestigate and respond to demand letters and subpoenas received by companySupport data tracking and reporting to company leadership around case strategy, areas of risk and financial cost of litigation and claimsOther duties as assigned  What's in it For You?
