Job Description

Work Arrangement


This role is categorized as on-site. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to HQ Building in Shanghai, China five times per week.

The Role -

The position will be accountable for providing overall legal support on a proactive and day-to-day basis to business functions of GM China as assigned, including providing legal counseling, transaction structure design and assessment from legal perspective, internal/external coordination with various stakeholders, contract drafting, negotiation and finalization, and any other legal support required for the business operations with respect to purchasing, HR, corporate development and governance, etc.

What You’ll Do - Support corporate business projects and initiatives;Research laws and regulations;Provide oral and written legal advice to clients;Counseling on the ongoing business operations, including commercial transactions, purchasing, HR, corporate matters, etc.;Team with other counsels in supporting complex contracts and deal structures;Support litigations with outside counsels;Provide legal support to the matters as assigned by supervisor and lead counsels as well as support to legal team as required;Actively managing and adapting to changes, challenges, and dynamic business/work environments

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)​​ 

Self-starter and diligent team player with the ability to independently operate in a matrix organization.Strong legal background in Chinese contracts, employment laws, corporate matters and have experiences in litigations.Excellent Mandarin and English language, oral and written.Strong interpersonal skills, having good business sense and high integrity, being result-oriented and customer-focused.Bachelor Degree in Law (or higher qualification) from a leading law school in China.Legal Qualification in China.At least 5 years’ experience in a multinational corporate legal department or premium local law firm in China.
