DESCRIPTION:
Cost Managers are responsible for ensuring estimates are tracked to all project metrics such as schedule, budget, safety, quality, and client needs. The Cost Manager assists in all aspects of preconstruction and is administered in compliance with company policies and procedures and Rudolph and Sletten’s Core Values (client-focused, integrity, passion for building, quality, safety, service, technology-driven). project. Knowledge bases include technical and operational knowledge of building construction, R&S corporate policies and procedures, general leadership, administrative, and execution skill sets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform quantity survey for self-performed and subcontractor work Solicit subcontractor/vendor quotations, and distribute bid documents, being knowledgeable of respective scopes of work and responsibilitiesAssist in preparing bidding documents (Instructions to Bidders, Amendments, Bid Forms, Appendices, etc.) for a smaller project or a specific phase or component of a larger project Assist in preliminary budgets and final bid estimates for a smaller project or a specific phase or component of a larger projectRelate the actual field cost to the estimated costsMaintain a daily project diary and cost reports during field training to provide the estimating staff with actual R&S crew productivity informationBecome knowledgeable of the R&S safety program and procedures as they relate to a specific project and how they are accounted for in the estimateOther duties as assignedAssists in the writing of subcontracts – Exhibit A’s, SCO’s and PCO’s;Maintains relationships & resolves disputed with subcontractorsManagement the Change Order programMonitors the contract & estimate. Identify discrepancies or variances & takes appropriate action.Prepare cost to complete estimates.Monitors back charges & logs.Reviews payments to supplies & subcontractors.Coordinates the pricing of changes.Assists in the negotiation of changes with subcontracts & owner representatives.Monitors the construction schedule & participates in schedule meetings.Develop cash flow projectionsIdentifies, initiates & administers accounts for T&M workPrepares insurance claims in coordination with Safety Engineer.Communicates job status to the management team members on a regular basisMaintains a good line of communication with subcontractors & suppliers & uses conflict mediation & troubleshooting skills to resolve any issues, questions or concerns.REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering Construction Management or a related field is desired; a combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of degreeMinimum of five (5) years of experience in the field or in a related area requiredProven jobsite knowledge & performanceIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office platformAdvanced working knowledge of Procore softwareScheduling knowledge of SureTrak & Primavera is preferredAbility to work independently while working in a strong team environment.Ability to prioritize work to accommodate deadlines with minimum supervision;JDEdwards experience preferred but not requiredExcellent oral & written communication skills.Expected annual salary range for this job is $135,000 - $180,000 depending on experience
