Cost Controller

Position Description

This position requires an experienced Cost Controller who has demonstrated collaboration, multiple stakeholder management and communication skills to assist delivering a set of project deliverables. An understanding of major capital projects and owners team scope from a cost perspective, would be beneficial.

Effective communication skills, verbal and written, will be required as the position has many interfaces across the Jansz-Io Compression (J-IC) project team. Building strong working relationships will be key on a high complexity project with a significant number of stakeholders, who may be geographically located in multiple countries.

Key responsibilities:

• Provision of Value of Work Done (VOWD), Forecasting and variance commentary, CE-MOC Budget Management, Commitment reporting, WBS management and all Cost Control activities for the Project Owners team, Owners Logistics and Completions scope
• Review, reconciliation and approval of contractor time sheets and invoices in alignment with work scope packages and service requests, ensuring allocation to correct WBS coding.
• Participate in meetings with Contractors and Package leads if required, guiding the team in all cost related issues for assigned scope.
• Facilitate, through regular collaboration, budget management and cost control activities including affiliate work orders (GO-113) and third-party Service Requests (SR)
• Provide necessary data to support monthly evaluation of overall cost performance, analysis of trends, assessment and recording of Risks, Vulnerabilities & Opportunities (RVOs), project cost extrapolation and forecasting insights to highlight issues and concerns.
• Provide support of scope cost data input into Omega iPIMS (cost database) and assist in preparation of cost information for the monthly Performance Reporting, in accordance with the project reporting dates.
• Support Cost Control Lead with scope inputs to be used for Risk Assessment activities, including Integrated Cost and Schedule Assurance Reviews (ICSA)

Key skills and experience required:

• The role requires an experienced Cost Controller, previous experience with major capital projects will be beneficial.
• 5+ years’ experience in cost controls supporting cost forecasts, reporting and budget management etc.
• Demonstrated ability to understand technical concepts and project cost processes.
• Ability to build relationships across the project team, with local and remote teams as required.
• Ability to engage the leadership team, and effectively communicate cost concepts for input to decision making.
