Cost Analyst

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Sr Director, Operations Controller, the Cost Analyst will work closely with the Cost Accounting and Product Development Teams to provide meaningful analysis related to new product launches. Essential functions of this role include the ability to work closely with engineers as well as accountants, perform detailed analysis of costs and margins and perform product comparisons between plants.  This role will be a key contributor analyzing and verifying financial data presented in all product related Market Introduction Plan presentations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, detail-orientated, organized and deadline driven.  The candidate will also be able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.  To be successful, this individual must be able to effectively communicate, collaborate and research topics accordingly to help drive the business forward.  

Essential Functions:

Review Market Introduction Plans (MIP) from Engineering team. 

Review all financial data and reconcile to provided quotes from external or internal Suppliers

Evaluate changing business and industry trends that may impact the MIP.

Challenge target costs well as the internal quoted costs for these products.

Review Capital requirements to launch new products in house to ensure they align with MIP documentation.

Participate in meetings to explain margin analysis related to MIP’s.

Work closely with Cost Accountants at each of the plants to ensure accurate costs are presented in the MIP’s.

Train Engineering Team on different cost methods and how they impact the margins on a new product.

Perform after product launch analysis to compare projected margins with actual margins and explain the causes for the difference.

Assist in driving operational improvements and support high visibility projects as needed.

Perform ad hoc financial analysis

Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.

Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance

At least 2 years of Finance experience preferably with a manufacturing company.

Strong understanding of financial concepts and basic understanding of U.S. GAAP

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Advanced Excel skills and strong presentation skills.  An Excel proficiency test will be administered as part of the interview process.

Ability to meet assigned deadlines, work well under pressure and provide timely results.

Have collaborative style and be able to work effectively across functional groups.
