Our major Oil & Gas (O&G) client is seeking a Cost Analyst to join their team in Texas City, TX for a 12-month assignment (with possibility of extension)
Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Cost Analyst to support our client's Engineering & Major Projects Department based in Texas City, TX.  This role will play a vital part in cost management, reporting, and project support activities. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Project Controls Specialist and other team members to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of project costs, budgets, and contractor performance. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Project Controls team in the development of monthly cost reports and preparation of cost workbooks. Conduct detailed analysis of contractor weekly and monthly reports, incorporating findings into internal reports. Support the creation of PowerPoint presentations for project updates and stakeholder meetings. Assist in month-end accruals and ensure project data is accurately updated in SAP. Collaborate with the Budget Coordinator in developing and maintaining the Capital Budget. Review and process contractor Change Notices, generate Work Orders, and maintain Change Logs. Analyze data, prepare summaries, and issue reports to support Project Managers in decision-making. Qualifications: College degree Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Familiarity with SAP or ability to learn SAP quickly. Ability to read, understand, and interpret contractor progress and performance reports. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience: Experience in a refinery or industrial project environment. Previous exposure to project cost controls or project accounting functions.
