Cost Accountant
Job Title: Cost Accountant
Job Description

Perform a combination of cost accounting tasks on production contracts and provide general accounting support at month-end closings. Analyze material, labor, and overhead cost variances. Provide oversight, analysis, and reporting of company inventory. Preparation of monthly journal entries, analysis of invoicing, reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts, assignment of account coding and approval of expenditures. Create/Update new standard costs as requested. Assist with the annual standard cost roll for various business groups. Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end cost accounting close requirements to meet corporate deadlines. Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries as part of the month-end close process. Prepare cost accounting reports to monitor manufacturing expenses and inventory trends. Review and explain month-end manufacturing variances between actual and standard costs. Monitor and observe cycle counts and perform monthly account reconciliations and input into the corporate central database. Manage the monthly scrap process.

The role will be on-site 3-4 days a week and will report to the interim Finance Director.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00
