The work schedule will be a rotational hitch of 21 days on followed by 21 days off or 14 days on followed by 14 days off. Daily work shifts will be 12 hours.
Position Summary: (CUI) Specialist
The Corrosion under Insulation (CUI) Specialist assumes leadership responsibilities, coordinates tasks, ensures safety measures, and maintains productivity in the workplace. They actively engage in manual labor to support Corrosion under Insulation initiatives. Additionally, the CUI Specialist collaborates closely with HAK Operator(s), CUI Lead, and takes on the role of mentoring and supporting the growth of GMT's. By contributing to their professional development and knowledge advancement, the CUI Specialist helps strengthen the expertise and skills of GMTs within the field of Corrosion under Insulation. Their involvement encompasses leadership, coordination, safety, productivity, and fostering a supportive environment for the growth of team members.
The responsibilities include:
Conducting asbestos abatement on process piping in compliance with regulations. This involves submitting a chain of custody forms for all Regulated Asbestos Containing Material (RACM), documenting the RACM from generation to disposal as per the State of Alaska Regulations. Filling out and submitting a Daily Compliance Log for each stripped driver, adhering to the State of Alaska Regulations. Erecting and dismantling non-engineered Systems Scaffold. Building crib stacks (2x2, 3x3, 4x4, crow's foot) based on the Engineered Lift Form. These stacks act as temporary support structures for line lifting/rest points. Performing Line Lifts using Airbags, Lift Jacks, Rigging, Cranes as specified in the Lift Form. Possessing Operator Qualification (OQ) certification to conduct Line Lifts, Insulation removal/installation, and Coating installation on DOT (Department of Transportation) regulated process piping, if required for the area and position. Proactively seeking ways to minimize workforce and equipment downtime. Identifying opportunities, implementing waste reduction strategies, and eliminating inefficiencies. Serving as a technical authority between the Crew and Inspector. Adhering to project plans and schedules, ensuring a safe working environment by verifying the availability of all necessary tools and materials. Prioritizing tasks and closely collaborating with the Inspector. Tracking work progress, efficiency, and effectiveness using various programs, including Job Impact Notifications (JIN's). Promoting and participating in Safety Programs. Cultivating a safety-oriented work culture by leading by example and performing all tasks in accordance with company and client safety guidelines. This includes proper hazard recognition and mitigation.Qualifications and skills required for the role include:
NSTC (North Slope Training Cooperative) training. Possession of a valid driver's license. High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of CUI experience in the oil and gas industry, with preference given to candidates with North Slope experience. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, with at least 2 years of practical knowledge and experience. Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a physically demanding job. Current Asbestos Abatement Certification through the State of Alaska. Current Building Inspector "AHERA" Certification through the State of Alaska. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills that include active listening, clear direction, and effective feedback. Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English. Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to manage differences and diversity in the workplace. The Corrosion under Insulation (CUI) Specialist is capable to work independently without the need for constant supervision. This includes being self-directed, proactive, and able to make sound decisions and prioritize tasks effectively. The ability to work autonomously ensures efficiency and productivity while maintaining the required safety standards and meeting project goals. Ability to collaborate with various contractors and clients for each scope of work. Proficiency in sheet metal and insulation fabrication, including but not limited to T's, unequal T's, miters, gores, reducers, end caps, flange cans, mailbox, wall flashing, etc. Accountable for crew safety, productivity, and quality of work. Close collaboration with the HAK Inspector to plan daily work scopes, focusing on safety, efficiency, and quality. Ability to perform job functions while wearing a respirator (half and full face). Proficiency in using standard shop equipment. Intermediate-level proficiency in using computers, including online training, email communication, and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
