This role reports firsthand information of news events national and international.  The news correspondent provides to the audience context, analysis, and different perspectives. Responsibilities: + Daily coverage of news events primarily from the Miami bureau. + Contribute to the editorial line of the day pitching stories and exclusive reports or interviews. + Researching and gathering of new stories using a variety of sources, such as interviews, press releases and social media. + Work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment with the willingness to work early morning shift, weekends, and have flexible hours for last-minute scheduling changes. + Work under the supervision of executive and senior producers. + Work in collaboration with assignment editors, producers, and writers. + Exhibits an understanding of social media to gather information for the stories. Basic Requirements: + Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience + Minimum 3 years of experience in a newsroom in Spanish + Experience creating digital video content in a newsroom is helpful. + Strong editorial knowledge + Proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment. + Ability to work under tight deadlines to write headlines and edit video for live digital broadcast. + Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal) + Available for early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. + Social Media knowledge Desired Characteristics: + Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization. + Proven excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story. + Outside of the box thinker + Proficient in I-News, Media Central helpful Additional Requirements: + Interested candidate must submit a resume/CV through www.nbcunicareers.com to be considered  + Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area. + Must be 18 years or older. + Must have a valid driver’s license. + Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States As part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
