Corporate Giving Community Data Manager

Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Giving, the Corporate Giving Community Data Manager requires a professional with expertise in data management, analysis and visualization to fulfill regular community reporting, maintain enterprise-wide community dashboards, and fulfill routine and ad hoc data requests for community data for enterprise business leaders. In addition, the position also requires excellent strategic management skills and knowledge or willingness to learn about corporate giving and private foundations. Data and Analytics responsibilities + Play a key role in helping the Corporate Giving Team transform and elevate our community-related data reporting by helping to define an overall community data structure + Increase the frequency of reporting by developing Tableau dashboards and enhancing the user experience by transitioning from a high volume of ad hoc requests to a self-service data model. + Maintain community-related reports and dashboards in Tableau and Excel for distribution to senior leaders on a regular basis, continuing to iterate on these dashboards to make them more robust and interactive. + Respond to ongoing and ad hoc data requests to support Enterprise goals around our corporate philanthropy, employee giving and volunteerism by extracting data from our grants management / engagement platform and creating reports utilizing scripting languages, Microsoft Excel and Tableau. + Analyze ad hoc requests looking for patterns/trends to determine what new dashboards should be created, enhancements should be made / rolled out to meet needs. + Manage community data including data collection and cleaning and make data collection suggestions for our grants management/engagement platform or in other data systems to allow for easier reporting. + Distill large volumes of data related to our collaborative grantmaking process with the Investors Foundation, including external data provided to us by the Investors Foundation about their grantmaking to create collective and side-by-side giving views. + Engage other groups within the Enterprise (such as HR, Community Development) to explore opportunities for learning through analysis of the community data we maintain, and the data maintained by the business lines to develop enhancements for our community reporting efforts. Corporate Giving responsibilities: + Develops new initiatives and employs innovative tools to streamline and revamp existing initiatives, engages in stakeholder management for corporate giving and other strategic initiatives. + Leverages Scripting, Excel, and other software skills, aids in the evaluation, refinement and modification of initiatives (i.e. Dollars for Doers, Emergency Relief) such as developing new budget tracking methods, creating department-wide data request tracking systems, and crafting usage projections for new initiatives by using historical data. + Serves as one of our CyberGrants grants management/employee engagement platform administrators, developing and implementing enhancements to our platform, i.e., creation of new portal pages, development of applications/forms/correspondence. + Researches best practices, current issues and legal issues in corporate giving and foundation grantmaking and conducts benchmarking as necessary to develop recommendations for improvement. Required Skills & Experience + 5 years’ experience in data management and analysis with a proven track record of delivering against goals and exhibiting sound judgment. + Ability to think strategically, prioritize, streamline and evolve challenging community initiatives within a fast-moving, changing, and complex environment. + Strong analytical skills and experience, with the ability to quickly synthesize a large volume of data, generate reports and summarize key insights. + Strong communication (written and verbal), problem solving and relationship-building skills. + Describe themselves as a motivated self-starter who is detail-orientation and has an ability to see the big picture. + Experience with data cleaning, data quality, and database governance. + Experience performing data analysis and visualization with large datasets. + Experience building reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) + Proficiency in scripting languages (Python or R) + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formula usage: vlookups/xlookups, data sorting and filtering, pivot table creation and manipulation, conditional formatting) Additional Skills and Experience are a plus: + Strong understanding of best practices in philanthropy + Experience working with database querying languages (SQL) + Experience working with Microsoft Stack (PowerApps, SharePoint, Forms, Lists, etc.) + Experience working with the CyberGrants (Bonterra) platform.
