Masco Corporation's Legal Department has an opening for a Corporate Litigation Counsel who will partner with our businesses and who has experience across a range of litigation related areas, including product liability and product compliance. The position will require a strategic approach to complex legal and regulatory issues, working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
The position will report to Masco’s Assistant General Counsel, Vice President, Litigation and Government Affairs. The Masco Legal Department strives to be a trusted business partner with corporate management and the individual business units, providing proactive advice to support strategic initiatives and to compete more effectively while performing compliance and corporate governance responsibilities in a timely, cost-effective manner. Position Summary:
· Develop and implement litigation strategies, both proactive and reactive;
· Anticipate and communicate future litigation and product compliance trends and developments impacting the business;
· Manage the Company’s actions regarding disputes, including budgeting and managing outside counsel;
· Collaborate with other internal legal support, as well as a variety of cross-functional teams, to provide the Company with legal advice regarding litigation and product compliance issues;
· Brief senior management on disputes or matters involving significant legal risk; and
· Prepare and present legal and regulatory compliance training programs.
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctorate, as well as registration to practice in at least one state.
· 10+ years of relevant legal experience at an in-house law department and/or law firm, demonstrating litigation experience and strong strategic skills.
· Practical, business oriented approach to problem solving, with good commercial awareness complemented by an appreciation of legal risk.

· Ability to multi-task and manage a significant workload with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
· Demonstrate risk assessment and negotiation skills.
