OVERVIEW

As a Corporate Accounting Intern you'll assist with various areas including accounts payable, general ledger journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses of actual vs. budget and actual vs. prior period results, preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements, and the quarterly earnings release and report on form 10-Q that are filed with the SEC.

JOB DUTIES

Assist the Accounts Payable team with indexer activity. Gather supporting documentation, and prepare and record journal entries to the general ledger. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and follow-up on identified variances. Compare monthly actual results to budget and prior period actuals; analyze variances and provide explanatory comments. Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements. Perform various tasks related to the quarterly earning release and SEC reporting. Assist with the monthly account close process. Assist with the monthly Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) procedures, including balance sheet account reconciliations. Other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, majoring in Accounting, Finance or related field Completion of two college accounting courses Strong attention to detail Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and duties with competing priorities Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to read, comprehend and interpret accounting policies and procedures Intermediate computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
