Responsibilities

Volunteers are at the center of our organization's mission to provide high quality health care to our diverse community. The Volunteer Coordinator assists in onboarding exceptional talent who are driven to enhance our patient experience. Responsibilities include:

 Assists Director of Volunteer with recruiting of volunteers by using a variety of resources and techniques. Ensures volunteers successfully complete new hire screening process (criminal background check, toxicology screening, PPD, etc). Gathers information on volunteers' skills, availability, and goals to match them with appropriate opportunities. In liaison with Director of Volunteer Services, schedules, coordinates and assigns volunteers to departments, supervisors, and mentors. Tracks statistics and maintains volunteer database. May provides reports as needed on volunteer activities, including numbers of volunteers, hours worked, contact information, etc. Maintains regular communication with volunteers to ensure their satisfaction and proper placement.  Ensures that volunteer-related information on the website is up-to-date and accurate. Coordinates with Director of Volunteer services volunteer appreciation initiatives and events, such as the Volunteer Recognition Dinner.  Provides training workshops for specific volunteer roles. Collaborates closely with department heads to ensure the effective use of volunteers. Aids in defining, implementing, and maintaining service standards and quality control procedures. Assists Director of Volunteer Services with ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, regarding volunteer services. Assists Director with ensuring department is in compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulatory agencies regarding volunteer services.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related disciplines. 1-2 years experience in volunteer coordination or a related role.
