Coordinator
The Coordinator for Student Engagement provides oversight for programs and events that support student development and community engagement for College Park Scholars an academic residential community for academically talented first and second year students in 13 interdisciplinary programs The coordinator oversees high impact programs including Scholars Peer Mentors and the Lakeland STARs enrichment program as well as executes annual events such as awards ceremonies Scholars Under the Lights and Find Your People The coordinator also plays an important role in expanding dialogue service and mental health and wellbeing initiativesReporting directly to the Associate Director for Student Affairs the coordinator will Provide direction and guidance to the Scholars Peer Mentors program including student coordinators program captains and 140 student peer mentors Oversee recruitment training and programming Act as liaison between mentors and program facultystaff Work with the Associate Director for Student Affairs to develop and instruct a new one credit training course Manage day to day delivery of Lakeland STARs enrichment program Supervise train and develop student coordinators and 50 student tutors Maintain partnership between Scholars City of College Park and Paint Branch Elementary Plan execute and evaluate annual large scale special events including fall and spring awards ceremonies Scholars Under the Lights and Find Your People Serve on campus wide Fall Welcome committee Collaborate with colleagues and students to ensure diversity equity inclusion and belonging throughout Scholars and infuse it into training and development of student groups Serve as co advisor to Real Talk students of color dialogue group and Cambridge Community Queers amp Allies CCQA Collaborate with Associate Director for Student Affairs to integrate new dialogue initiatives throughout Scholars Serve as advisor to a student group facilitating service and community engagement Build and sustain community partnerships Serve on campus wide Good Neighbor Day committee Serve as co advisor of the Student Advisory Board Listen to student needs in order to promote student engagement especially around mental health and wellbeing Collaborate with Associate Director for Student Affairs in assessment and strategic planning around student engagement community building and diversity equity inclusion and belonging Collaborate with Assistant Director for Communications on promotional material and sign up processes As a member of the Scholars Central Staff team participate and support annual signature programs eg Service Day Convocation Academic Showcase Kickball TournamentField Day and participate in administrative processes like admissions and orientation
