Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator, Student Experience (New Student Transitions & Family Engagement) - Boca Raton, FL

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Mentoring Project - First-Year & Transfer Connections:

Work with Associate Director as primary point to First-Year Connections and Transfer Connections – assist in recruitment and lead engagement opportunities.

Work with Assistant Director and Associate Director on assessment strategies and initiatives for checking in on Mentees who may need additional support.

Plan and execute events and check-ins for First-Year Connections Mentors and Mentees.

Plan and execute events and check-ins for Transfer Connections Mentors and Mentees.

Orientation Programming:

Oversee the scheduling, training, supervision, and evaluation of interns and student staff who work with Orientation (Mentor Orientation Leaders) and Mentoring.

Oversee student and staff retreats as it relates to respective areas.

Assist with Orientation Leader recruitment in the fall semester.

Work hand in hand to receive Orientation Leader recruitment strategies and execute recruitment initiatives (tabling, info session presentations co-facilitate, etc.)

Plan Mentor Orientation Leader & Orientation Leader retreats.

Lead of resource fair at SOAR/any involvement breakout opportunities.

Lead tabling at SOAR for mentoring recruitment/awareness.

Develop student staff recognition strategies and Orientation Leader banquet.

Serve as liaison for Registered Student Organization process/student travel.

Serve as liaison for Extended Orientation opportunities: Legacy 61 and First Saturday in Paradise.

Volunteer in university wide initiatives such as “Need Help?  Just ask” campaign

Represent the department on campus committees.

Supervise graduate and undergraduate level staff, when available.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must have interpersonal and listening skills.

Must have event planning experience.

Must have marketing and social media experience.

Salary:

$21.25 per hour
