Position Overview
The Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) project is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon and Framatome, located in Kincardine, Ontario. SGRT is a part of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) project and includes the removal of the steam generators at Unit 3 and 4 and the installation of replacement steam generators with related plant modifications. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064. In addition to the existing contracts for Unit 3 and Unit 4, SGRT has signed a long-term Preferred Supplier Agreement for steam generator replacements at the plant’s remaining units as part of the Bruce Major Component Replacement project.
The Project Coordinator reports to the Field Engineering Manager. Following the Field Engineering Manger’s review of the project estimate, budget, commercial and the technical review of the project, the Project Coordinator directs, coordinates and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering and construction requirements within the scope of a specified project. The Project Coordinator will also assist in the development of Construction Work Packages for their assigned work scope.
What You Will Do Here
Develops the Construction Work Packages for the electrical work scope and supports the construction team execution of the work packages. Carries out detailed constructability reviews to develop the electrical engineering design requirements, project schedule, manpower and procurement requirements. Provides status report of project milestones and adjustment to schedules. Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget. Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, electrical design documents, as built drawings, turnover documents, etc. Reviews project electrical designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications. Coordinates activities relating to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Evaluates and recommends design changes, specifications and drawing releases. Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met. Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management. Assists and monitors safety programs and statistics as required. Writes and reviews purchase specifications and subcontract documents. Coordinates all site procurement activities including validation of material specifications, preparation of purchase requisitions, materials material tracking and ensuring traceability of materials when installed in the field. Active involvement in quality assurance with regards to understating and implementing policies and procedures. Provides estimating and project management back-up as required. Develop and write reports, business correspondence. Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring to the Team
Post secondary school education in an Electrical Engineering discipline. A minimum of 1-3 years working as a Project Coordinator or equivalent role, ideally in project engineering or EPC environment (co-op placement experience will be considered). Proficient in software related to construction industry as required (e.g. Primavera Scheduling software, AutoCAD, SAP etc.). Excellent Computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
