Job description:

Job Summary

The purpose of this role is to provide support in all aspects related to drilling operations for both surface and underground mining areas within the KMP mine lease. This position will report directly to the Senior Coordinator, Drilling & Blasting and work closely with the Production team to ensure timely delivery of blast holes for production activities.

Responsibilities:
 

Monitor and track drill rigs to optimize drilling performanceSchedule and coordinate drilling programsMonitor drilling parameters such as penetration rate, bit wear, mud pressure, etc.Assist in the maintenance of drill rigs and associated equipmentManage subcontractors during drilling campaignsProvide regular reports on drilling progress and issuesCollaborate with other departments to ensure smooth execution of drillingConduct safety meetings before starting any drilling team

Qualifications:

Full Grade 12 CertificateDiploma or Degree in Mining EngineeringMinimum 10 years’ experience working in drilling and blasting environment, preferably in open pit miningKnowledge of drilling techniques and methods used in open pit miningProficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook)Ability to communicate effectively in English language, both written and verbalStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management abilities
