HACCP Coordinator - Orangeville

Overview of the role :

You'll discover a stimulating atmosphere that fosters your professional growth in a clean and safe environment. Reporting to the QA Supervisor, the HACCP Coordinator, is responsible monitoring and maintaining the effectiveness, develop, implement and revise the Food Safety Systems at the Orangeville facility. The Food Safety System encompasses Food Safety, Quality and Food Defense and Security as well as some aspects of Personnel Health and Safety.

Schedule: Monday to Friday - 8:30AM to 4:30PM

Salary: $58,970 - $73,735

Programs & Procedures:

The position works with all levels of the organization to:

Co-ordinate, develop, implement and revise policies and practices relating to the current SQF SystemRevise, validate and log changes to Food Safety Fundamentals (GMP or Prerequisite Programs) and Food Safety (HACCP) Plans that have an impact on Suppliers’ ability to deliver safe, quality food.Complete SQF reviews and report to Senior ManagementWork with management to schedule and conduct internal audits.  Report results to Plant Management and Senior ManagementComplete records and on-site verifications as outlined in ProgramsVerify programs and personnel performing tasks where applicableTrain employees on program content and requirements where necessaryBackup trainer for OrientationPerform regulatory and 3rd party audits, complete corrective actions & maintain certifications.Coordinate and facilitate regular SQF MeetingsCoordinate Mock Recalls/Crisis & Complete follow up actions and meetingsEnsure program changes occur for new equipment, facilities & technologiesWrite & approve program, procedures & recordsTraining Service Suppliers and Contractors entering the manufacturing plantEnsuring all aspects of the SQF program are completed and kept up to date by teamStay abreast of and report to Senior Management on Government Regulations (Canadian) with respect to Programs and Projects where applicableStay abreast of all reviews and reasons for amending documents, validations and changes to the Certified SQF SystemResponsible for Supplier Food Safety AssessmentsBackup Environmental coordinator duties (or Environmental roles/duties): completing spill reports to corporate and municipality when required, completing water sampling and testing requirements.Coordinate with and manage pest control service provider, and janitorial services in the plant.

Health and Safety:

Combine Health & Safety procedures with Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP), Safe Quality Foods and other procedures where applicable

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

Minimum 3 years experience within the food manufacturing industry - dairy experience an assetWith at least 2 years experience in HACCP development, implementation, auditing and monitoringAt least 1 year experience in a scientific laboratorySuperior communication and organization skillsInterpersonal skills to facilitate projects and enhance inter-departmental interactionsGood time management with strong administrative skillsAbility to embrace change with enthusiasmProficiency with Microsoft office applicationsKnowledge of the USA FDA, Canadian Federal (CFIA) and Food and Drugs ActKnowledge of Ontario Provincial Dairy regulationsKnowledge of Nutritional requirements for Canada and the US an assetKnowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other Health & Safety regulations and policiesTeam player, but also has the ability to work independentlyMotivated individual who thinks in a positive proactive manner
