Job Overview:

The Coordinator of the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Department manages the Juvenile Justice Substance abuse program including seeing clients, building curriculum, and bridging the substance abuse programs between IOP and outpatient.

The Coordinator is responsible for daily unit management, coordinating in-service for staff education and development, supervision of MSW interns and LSWs, and community outreach to potential referral sources.

Qualifications:

Required:

Master's of Social WorkNJ Licensed Social Worker (LSW)

Preferred:

Minimum one year clinical experienceNJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)

Certifications and Licenses Required:

NJ Licensed Social Worker (LSW)

Essential Functions:

Obtains appropriate release of informationDesigns and implements treatment plans, including individual, group, and/or family psychotherapy, and evaluates and documents patient outcomes according to department policy and procedureInterprets nature of illness and prescribed course of treatment to patients and familiesCommunicates family issues to other staff membersParticipates in planning conferencesMaintains up-to-date and complete records of patient information according to established standardsAs a member of the multidisciplinary team, assist in reviewing and updating treatment and discharge plansCollaborates with other hospital programs and community agencies with which patients and families are involvedAssesses patients needs through clinical interview, chart/history review and through use of standardized instrumentsPerforms age specific assessmentsUses communications appropriate to ageAssesses age specific safety issuesInterprets patient data and responsesDelivers Adolescent MICA services, including execution of Union County Youth Services Commission Contracted Programming, as well as clinical care for C/A OPU general patient populationProvides Treatment Interventions within an integrated theoretical framework with special emphasis on the MICA patient populationDevelops and delivers professional seminars and workshops to the public and mental health community when requestedServes as a resource and model to staff regarding dually diagnosed adolescents in working with outside agencies, conducting groups, and holding family conferencesDevelops and delivers Behavioral Health and MICA education to patients familiesCollaborates with pediatricians, schools, probation, parole, courts, and other community agencies with which patients and families are involved to support treatment and discharge planningAttends Union County Juvenile Expediting Team (UJET) meetings to promote Trinitas MICA services and partner with the courts/community agencies for care coordinationAttends MICA PH and other unit-based clinical treatment team meetings when needed, as a member of the department s multidisciplinary team, to facilitate patient flow
