**Description:**
**Position Purpose**
Join our team at St. Joseph of the Pines as a Cook, where you will play a vital role in ensuring quality food service for our residents. You will prepare meals in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations while upholding our mission of providing compassionate care. As a Cook, you will embody our core values of People, Growth, Quality, Service, and Financial responsibility to create a welcoming and respectful dining environment.
**What You Will Do**
+ Prepare meals according to planned menus, ensuring they are nutritious and appealing.
+ Review menus and make approved substitutions as needed.
+ Assist in serving meals in a timely and professional manner.
+ Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, adhering to all safety regulations.
+ Keep inventory of food and supplies, ensuring availability for meal preparation.
+ Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless food service.
+ Assist in special meal preparation for events or resident celebrations.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Experience cooking in large quantities, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
+ Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills and be able to follow oral and written instructions.
+ Ability to follow dietary procedures and prepare therapeutic and special diets.
+ Strong leadership skills and the ability to work well with others.
+ Excellent communication and customer service skills.
+ Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
