Schedule: Full Time 40 hours - 5x 8 hour shifts (with ½ meal break) with the potential of working from: 5am-1:30, 7am-3:30 or 10am – 6:30. There is an every other weekend requirement.

The role you’ll contribute: Under the direct supervision of the Nutritional Services Supervisor, the cook will prepare, season and cook food for hospital patients, staff and visitors.

The value you’ll bring to the team

Prepare, season, cook and bake food for hospital patients, staff and visitors.

Ensures meals are ready at specified times.

Consults with Nutritional Services Supervisor regarding use of left-overs.

Consults Clinical Dietitian on modified diets, as necessary.

Supervises Nutritional workers when washing, trimming or preparing food.

Tests foods being cooked to ensure doneness. Adjusts heat controls as necessary.

Observes infection control practices at all times.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Previous experience in food preparation.
