With the belief that they were there when we needed them, so we must be there now that they need us, Veterans Inc., the largest provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families in New England is seeking to fill the Cook position and become a valued member of the Veterans Inc. team!\n

This position is under the general supervision of the Food Services Manager. The cook will be responsible for preparing and serving meals according to the needs of program participants with all dietary requirements. \n

This position is split between our Worcester and Shrewsbury locations.\n

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:\n\nPrepare or direct preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems. \n\nDetermine amount, type and availability of food and supplies required. \nSet steam table; serve or ensure proper serving of food for tray line or dining room. \n\n\nComply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards. \nObserve proper food preparation and handling techniques. \nStore food properly and safely, marking date and item. \nReport necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor.\nAssist with periodic inventory checks and perform other functions such as maintaining records to comply with Veterans Inc., government, state, and local standards.\nAssist with bi-weekly food pantry.\nAssist with food services for special events as assigned, occasionally on evenings or weekends.\n\n

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:\n\nMinimum of high school diploma or equivalent required. Culinary Arts Certificate, or other related fields, preferred.\nMinimum of two years' experience in the Food Services Industry.\nServSafe Certification required.\nAbility and skill to cater to groups of up to 300 people.\nMust be able to successfully pass a CORI\/Background records check.\nCompliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Religious and Medical Exemptions are considered.\n\n
