Controls Specialist

Cannon Automotive Solutions, a division of Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping has an immediate opportunity for a Controls Specialist in our Windsor, Ontario stamping facility. The Controls Specialist is responsible for continuously improving automated systems to increase equipment efficiency in high-throughput operations. The ideal candidate will have prior controls experience, be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Summary of Responsibilities:

Support Maintenance Management by communicating effectively and providing guidance to both the Electrical and Automation Teams Execute industrial mechanical knowledge of process automation, PLC programming, HMI improvements and robotic operations Ensure functional design specifications are understood and successfully delivered on time and within budget Involvement in new project engineering and controls programming   Utilize lean-manufacturing principles by improving process capability, reducing overall costs, and increasing capacity  

Minimum Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in engineering, instrumentation, process control or electronics     5 years of relevant experience related to industrial process automation Ability to prepare technical documentation such as shop drawings, operating manuals, training manuals, equipment reports, and employee assessments Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Ability to lead and mentor Jr. associates; exercise a strong sense of teamwork    

Preferred Qualifications:

10 years of relevant experience related to industrial process automation
