Job Summary: 

The Controls Project Specialist position supports customer needs through a blend of Project Management, Engineering and Technician activities.   Will manage projects, from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame, with available resources and within budget. Excellent opportunity for someone who likes variety of work and is looking to get exposure to the different functions/roles within the HVAC controls business.

Where is the work:

This position has been designated as Remote and work will be performed in the West Michigan area. 

Responsibilities:  

Responsibilities may include engineered control drawings, end to end testing, downloading/writing programming, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned projects.Communicate with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, subcontractors, and field support staff. Assist in creating, revising, and managing project schedulesManage all project work streams, including subcontractorsResponsible for project cash-flow management, including forecastingMeet with contractors and owners to discuss scope of project, budgets, performance, and close-out. Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff. Travel to customer job sites is required, which may include outdoor work and/or work in mechanical/equipment rooms. During the site visits, the employee may be exposed to variable weather conditions; moving mechanical parts; heights, and other variable environmental conditions based on location. 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering OR Technology with a minimum of three (3) years of HVAC controls experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a project management, engineering, OR technician capacity is required.Individual must be self-motivated and be able to work on their own w/ limited supervisionOrganization and attention to detail is essentialExperience working directly with building owners and contractors, and a strong ability to communicate verbally and through written communication is required.Must be able to travel locally within state. Some overnight stay may be required.  Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years; Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

 

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $45/hour - $52/hour. 

 

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
