Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer with a strong background in Process Controls. This role requires comprehensive PLC/HMI programming abilities, including the capability to develop programs from the ground up and troubleshoot existing code. The primary focus of this position is to support and maintain meat processing equipment remotely, ensuring machines at various processing plants across North America are operational. While the role is predominantly onsite.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and troubleshoot PLC/HMI programs from scratch.Remotely support and maintain meat processing equipment installed at customer sites.Occasionally work onsite in Hudson to assist with equipment builds and testing.Collaborate with a small team, wearing multiple hats and solving problems autonomously.Travel to processing plants 2-3 times per year to provide onsite support.Essential Skills3-5+ years of experience with PLC/HMI programming.Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC programming.Background in a Process Controls environment (e.g., food processing, water/wastewater, oil and gas).Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with SCADA systems (Ignition preferred).Electrical design skills are a plus.Hands-on approach and willingness to engage directly with equipment.Experience with instrumentation, VFDs, piping, filtration, pumps, valves, and plant engineering.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
