Controls Engineer
Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description The Controls Engineer oversees and leads the development of PLC and HMI programs for safe, effective, and efficient operation of products and processes while meeting and exceeding company quality and production standards and customer documentation and delivery requirements. Design, develop, and oversee all aspects of programming of PLC’s, HMI’s, and remote I/O devices in a fast-paced, collaborative, manufacturing environment, and a project management structure to ensure workflow remains within schedule and budget requirements. Provide onsite commercial and technical field support with up to 25% local regional trips to customers and suppliers, including a small number of occasional domestic trips, and rarely non-domestic flights. Responsibilities + Design, develop, and oversee programming of PLC’s, HMI’s, and remote I/O devices. + Ensure workflow remains within schedule and budget requirements. + Provide onsite commercial and technical field support with up to 25% local regional trips to customers and suppliers. + Collaborate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to meet quality and production standards. + Coordinate and manage customer orders and develop product/project quotes. + Establish and maintain internal, customer, and supplier communications. Essential Skills + Proficient with a variety of communication protocols, including Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet IP, & Profinet. + Proficient with PLC and HMI software. + Experience with SCADA integration. + Experience with Schneider Electric Control Logix, or equivalent Toolkit software. + Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. + 5+ years of engineering and technical experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications + BS in a relevant engineering discipline or a 2-year technical degree with equivalent related experience. + Experience with Emerson PAC Machine Edition or Allen Bradley Studio 5000 for PLCs. + Experience with Emerson Movicon/PAC Machine Edition or Allen Bradley Factorytalk View Machine Edition for HMIs. + Experience with GE Multilin or Basler DECS software is a plus. Work Environment This is an onsite role within a manufacturing environment. The company is very focused on culture, promoting a 'work hard, play hard' atmosphere with activities such as an office golf league. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $125000.00/yr.  PTO / ESST 8 paid holidays each year $100 individual deductible $300 family deductible 401K STD & Life Insurance Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Minneapolis,MN.
