Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

Designs and coordinates the control and electrical functions associated with the concept, design, detail, assembly, and debugging of standard and custom equipment.

ResponsibilitiesPreparation of electrical schematics.Preparation of electrical panel layouts and creation of electrical parts list for custom and standard products as assigned.PLC programming of equipment, including design and documentation of PLC programs.Operator interface programming and ensuring effective communication with internal staff, customers, and vendors.Providing follow-up service of machinery at customer locations for installation assistance and/or customer training. Responding to requests for phone, email, or online services, which may require domestic or international travel.Assisting with wiring, cable routing, marking, and inspection of machinery in the assembly department.Commissioning of electrical components and machine function during the assembly portion of assigned projects.Maintaining professional customer relations and helping to ensure customer satisfaction with the product as a whole.Essential SkillsExperience with Allen Bradley PLC, PLC programming, automation, and controls engineering.Proficiency in electrical design, control panels (AutoCAD Electrical), and HMI programming.3+ years of experience with electrical design, schematics, and control panel layout.3+ years of experience with PLC programming, particularly Allen Bradley.3+ years of experience with HMI programming.Experience troubleshooting software and machines on the floor.Ability to interface effectively with customers.Additional Skills & QualificationsAAS with 6+ years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience.Experience in custom automated equipment.Experience with motion control and vision systems.Work Environment

A small but growing company with about 40 employees. This is an onsite position split between office work and troubleshooting machines on the floor. Up to 20%-25% travel may be required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
