Controls Engineer
Job Description

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to our Kokomo, Indiana location on a full-time basis.

The Role:

The Controls Engineer is an individual contributor with recognized expertise responsible for tasks and work throughout the entire product development lifecycle including requirements definition, systems design and implementation, testing, and problem resolution.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

Develop and document requirements required to design an automotive systemDesign and manage key strategic interfaces within systems to enable component reuse and consistency to standard methodologiesOversee requirements development with other activitiesProvide support to other specialists for root cause analysisStrong ability to expertly capture and analyze empirical dataDesign Tests to efficiently find opportunities for design improvementsStay on top of industry trends, technologies, and standard methodologiesIdentify and document system vulnerabilities and craft mitigation action plans; track corrective actions

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Ability to work 1st shift on a full time basisAbility to work OT as neededKnowledge of manufacturing and maintenance processes/procedures as well as quality control and environmental proceduresDemonstrated ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for resultsStrong technical knowledge of electrical/control systems and the ability to apply these concepts within a manufacturing environmentExperience in PLC and HMI programming, Ethernet and/or Devicenet networksKnowledge of servo motors, motion control and drivesExperience in Fanuc robots setup and programmingDemonstrated understanding of mechanical concepts involving machine designs, process requirements involved in the manufacturing processAbility to use computer, interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and learn new systems

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

Bachelor's degree in controls engineering or equivalent experienceExperience working in a manufacturing environment3 years of demonstrated technical knowledge of electrical/control systems and ability to apply these concepts within a manufacturing environment3 years of experience in Control Architectures:
-   PLC: Allen Bradley / Siemens
-   Robot/CNC: Fanuc Robotics / Siemens CNC / Fanuc CNC
-   Vision: Cognex / Keyence / Fanuc iR Vision
-   Variable Frequency Drive (VFD): Allen Bradley / SiemensKnowledge of hydraulics and pneumaticsKnowledge of high voltage power distribution
