We are currently searching for a Controls Engineer who will design, develop, debug, and deliver electrical controls hardware and software for customers of the ROBODRILL Execution Group (RDG). You will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of engineers and project management to ensure successful completion of real-word customer applications that will ultimately be used in a high-volume production setting. Primary responsibilities will include:
* Work as part of an execution team and assume complete responsibility of system control function from start to finish of the project
* Write controls specifications defining the functional scope of controls and the I/O requirements
* Develop electrical drawing packages to meet the customer specifications and system requirements
* Host electrical design review meetings
* Program and debug PMC, PLC, and HMI programs
* Develop operator manuals
* Perform system integration and debug on FAC floor
* Support field installation, startup and debug of systems
* Travel to customer sites as needed, including overnight travel, to provide necessary support
* Administer customer training sessions as needed
* Support demonstration systems intended for use at trade shows, remote offices, or secondary education establishments
* Basic ROBODRILL troubleshooting
* Provide insight to other team members regarding application specific robot requirements Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent relevant experience
* Minimum 3 years relevant experience in systems engineering, design, assembly, and/or material handling; preferably related to robotic/automation systems
* Experience reading mechanical prints
* Proficient in developing electrical drawings
* Hands-on experience troubleshoots and debug electrical systems
