Your Role: As a Controls Engineer I at MMT, you will be pivotal in designing and implementing servo motion controllers, automation systems, and other critical components for our specialized machinery. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team, working to bring innovative, high-performance systems to life. Your role will involve programming, prototyping, testing, and debugging to ensure our machines exceed customer expectations. Key Responsibilities: Design & Development: Create electrical and electromechanical systems, including servo motors, motion controls, and high-precision feedback devices for Glebar and Tridex precision machinery. Problem-Solving: Analyze designs for functionality, cost-effectiveness, and production readiness, adjusting as needed to meet performance goals. Estimate cost, reliability, and safety factors. Customer Collaboration: Work closely with clients to define requirements and provide solutions that meet their unique needs. Cross-functional Teamwork: Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to implement machine design changes. Testing & Debugging: Build, test, and modify product prototypes, isolating and resolving any defects to ensure optimal performance. Projects: Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate program of assigned engineering work and projects. Estimate cost, reliability, and safety factors. Control the efficiency of processes. What We’re Looking For: PLC Programming: Proficiency in PLC design and programming is required. Mitsubishi Ladder Programming: Proficiency with FX3/FX5 is required or equivalent experience with Beckhoff, Fanuc, Siemens, Allen Bradley systems is a plus. Automation & Robotics: Strong skills in automation and robot programming. HMI Development: Experience with HMI design and development is required. Industrial Robotics and Process Controls: Familiarity with industrial robotic systems and process controls is a plus. Programming Skills: Knowledge of .NET C or C# programming is a plus. Vision Systems Integration: Experience with vision system integration is an advantage. Machine Tool Design: Familiarity with machine tool design is a plus. Design Software: Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Inventor Vault, SolidWorks, and Epicor is a plus. Project Management: Previous experience managing engineering projects is a plus. Qualifications: Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in product design and development in an automated manufacturing environment is required. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Controls Engineering is required. Please note, verification of education may be requested as part of the hiring process. Candidates should be prepared to provide a copy of their degree or transcripts if requested. Physical Requirements: This role requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, and using dexterity with hands and fingers. Occasional climbing, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
