Controls Engineer
Job Description Our test lab is used for validating multiple robot designs in development. The Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining, validating and troubleshooting these systems, working closely with the development teams. Aside from technical skills, strong ownership and ability to collaborate effectively with other engineers will be key to success in this role. Major duties and responsibilities include: * Own and maintain a large lab with test fixtures and robots. Manage robot configurations, code releases, post-release smoke testing. * Automate the deployment and validation of firmware and software code changes. Create innovative physical test automation mechanisms and fixtures * Conduct basic troubleshooting and triage of systems issues, e.g. connectivity tests, wiring checks, configuration/release issues. Work closely with firmware, hardware and electrical engineers to drive troubleshooting. * Create mechanisms and best-practices for reliable operation of the lab system $50/hour to $60/hour Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Skills and Requirements * 2-5 years of experience in a Controls engineer or Systems engineer role. * Substantial experience commissioning and maintaining systems which combine hardware-firmware-software. * Strong scripting skills with linux command line tools and Python * Good linux skills, especially troubleshooting device connectivity and networking issues * Experience using logs to troubleshoot issues * Demonstrated familiarity with control system components, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic parts to isolate root cause. * Experience setting up test fixtures and executing tests null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
