We are looking for an experienced Finance Controller with leadership and transformation skills to join Edgewell Personal Care – a global consumer goods business with a portfolio of over 25 brands (Wilkinson Sword, Schick, Hawaiian Tropic, Carefree, Bulldog Skincare for Men, Jack Black and Cremo Grooming… just to name a few!). 
 
Now, Let’s Get Down To Business
The EMEA Controller will play a key strategic role in managing the accounting activities for EMEA Controllership team, with responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records and managing the company’s financial close processes. This includes maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and tax compliance in accordance with US GAAP, local country Statutory Accounting and VAT reporting and compliance requirements for all EMEA entities. Accounting activities include overseeing financial statement preparation and analysis, journal entry and reconciliation review and approval, year-end audit preparation, statutory audit preparation and budget/forecast support. In addition, the EMEA Controller will work closely with the Global Business Services (GBS) team to ensure offshore activity is performed and reviewed in accordance with company policy. 


Here’s a sample of what you’ll get up to:


•    Oversee month end closing processes for all areas of the EMEA Controllership team and proactively communicate due dates required to meet closing and reporting deadlines.  
•    Review high risk, non-standard journal entries and reconciliations prepared by direct reports to ensure accuracy. 
•    Partner with Commercial and Finance teams to provide input on budget and forecasting as needed, including at a legal entity level
•    Ensure financial statements are prepared and reported in accordance with US GAAP
•    Oversee and review any statutory, tax and legal reporting required for EMEA legal entities, including compliance with local Statutory Accounting principles and VAT reporting compliance
•    Evaluate and monitor all process controls to ensure compliance with SOX.
•    Ensure information requests from other Finance and Controllership teams are addressed timely and accurately. 
•    Provide direct oversight to outsource provider to ensure processes are being appropriately followed and issues resolved in a timely manner
•    EMEA Controllership lead representative for the quarterly balance sheet fluctuation analysis.
•    Attract, grow, engage, and retain talent through timely, effective, and consistent use of performance management, training, succession, planning, coaching, and other talent management tools.  
•    Evaluate industry best practices and drive process improvement opportunities (including system changes and enhancements). 


Are You Ready to Show Us What You’ve Got? 
This is a great opportunity for someone with significant Controllership experience ideally gained within a consumer goods/ personal care/ cosmetics industry. While your experience is of course important, we’re all about making useful things joyful, so we love when our prospective candidates are passionate about this too.
 
Here’s what we are looking for: 


•    Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in accounting required
•    ACCA or CPA required
•    Proficient in understanding US GAAP, local Statutory Accounting principles and local audit requirements and VAT reporting compliance
•    Strong project management skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle several projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
•    Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English and Polish
•    Experience working with SAP, knowledge and experience working with SAP WP1 and OTC modules, preferably with the S4/Hana version
•    Experience working with HFM 
•    Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and work effectively with team members and various key stakeholders.
•    Detail-oriented with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced and matrixed environment.
•    Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving, sound judgment, organizational and planning
