Job Title: ControllerJob Description Provide coaching, guidance, and mentorship to the accounting department, serving as a resource of expertise and leadership. Handle customer and vendor inquiries and address employee questions with excellent customer service and communication skills. Supervise accounts receivable functions, including the preparation of AIA invoices, collections, deposits, and lien reviews. Oversee vendor payments through checks, credit cards, and electronic funds transfers. Review basic contract documents for compliance, billing, and revenue to ensure accurate invoice preparation. Conduct revenue and expense analysis on projects and assist project managers as needed. Review accounting reports for errors and ensure necessary corrections are made. Maintain accurate data records for audits. Essential Skills + 7+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry. + 3+ years of management/leadership experience. + Management or leadership skills with the ability and willingness to train, coach, lead, and motivate other accounting staff. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Strong work ethic and attention to detail. + Thorough knowledge of general accounting plus 5 years in construction accounting. + Effective time management, well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well under deadlines and respond to change in priorities. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred; other fields of study acceptable. + Experience with union payroll, lien waiver review, AIA billing, contract review, job cost analysis including earned revenue calculation and recognition, and Davis Bacon compliance. + Familiarity with business licensing, journal entry, month-end processes, construction accounting, contract review, and Trimble Viewpoint. Work Environment Corporate HQ. Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Family-owned company, 3rd generation, with a friendly and personable culture.
