Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Controller to lead our team of operational and payroll analysts. The ideal candidate will excel in managing various financial tasks, including month-end activities, payroll processing, and statutory reporting. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying trends and variances, ensuring compliance with laws, and supporting financial audits.
ResponsibilitiesLead a team of operational and payroll analysts.Perform various month-end activities, including journal entries, SAP & HFM schedules, and restructuring reporting.Work closely with operations to identify trends and variances, highlighting potential issues for informed decision-making.Manage bi-weekly computation, documentation, and processing of payroll wages and deductions.Support and report for yearly audits by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).Manage and reconcile employee T4 slips annually.Post payroll data and prepare related reports bi-weekly, monthly, and yearly.Prepare statutory government reporting, such as WSIB and EHT, ensuring compliance with laws and deadlines.Present data to Finance and Operations, providing insights on potential corrective actions and forecasting compared to the plan.Coordinate the annual cost center budget cycle and the monthly estimating process.Perform account reconciliations for assigned accounts.Support indirect vendor cost analysis, accounts payable, and associated functions.Apply continuous improvement methodologies to support manufacturing costing and other finance processes.Actively use BW/BI, Tableau, advanced Excel, and other tools for day-to-day analysis.Support Sarbanes-Oxley and other audit or government compliance activities, reporting, and analysis.Essential SkillsAccountingFinancial analysisReconciliationMonth-end closeForecastingReportingCost accountingSAPOperations financeBudgetsVariance analysisJournal entriesPayrollAnnual cost centerAnnual operating planManagementAdvanced ExcelManufacturing financeFinancial reportingFinancial statement analysisAuditAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with BW/BI and TableauStrong attention to detailExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to work on multiple projectsExposure to accounting professionals across North AmericaWork Environment
The role requires working on-site for 37.5 hours per week, from 9 AM to 5 PM. The office is located in Oakville, Ontario, and business casual attire is expected.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
