Control Panel Technician
**Job Title: Control Panel Technician/Fabricator** **Job Description** We design and build control panels for the oil and gas industry, chemical plants, and perform custom work. This position involves the physical assembly, wiring, and testing of control panels for industrial equipment. The Technician will fabricate controls to print, including the layout and physical mounting of components to the back panel, wiring of all components, installation of control panels onto equipment, and testing to ensure proper operation. **Responsibilities** + Dimension and layout of back panels and enclosures + Mounting of components to back panels and enclosures + Routing and bundling of wire and cables neatly to meet wiring standards + Point-to-point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O Modules, VFDs, Interfaces, and Instrumentation + Troubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions + Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication + Communicate red line changes to the Manufacturing Manager for revision prior to completion + Ability to meet deadlines under pressure + Perform other duties as assigned or as needed, including mechanical, electrical, and network installation of systems **Essential Skills** + High standard of quality and attention to detail + Excellent people skills with a can-do attitude + Ability to understand and work from schematics + Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology + 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly + PLC knowledge + Ability to read wiring diagrams and perform point-to-point wiring **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with panel building, panel wiring, and panel assembly + Mechanical assembly skills + PLC (Allen Bradley) assembly experience **Why Work Here?** This is a temp-to-hire position in a small, close-knit work environment with about 8 employees in the panel shop. Our company offers a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. **Work Environment** The work involves the fabrication of PLC panels and cabinets in a climate-controlled environment. The shift is from 7 AM to 4 PM, with a lunch break from 11 AM to 12 PM. Typically, the workweek is 40 hours, with occasional Saturdays. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.
