Operations Control Management (OCM) is a key function for Operations to meet the increasing demands from the business and regulators. The focus of the role is to prevent, detect and manage operational risk. OCM closely aligns with Operations functions while reviewing processes for the purpose of enhancement and execution of the controls. The role involves shaping and leading projects, process, risk and control analysis and reporting to support the risk and control agenda.

The Associate OCM role is a coordination and consolidation role, created to bring Operations activities and priorities together in a consistent and strategic manner. In support of operational excellence, the OCM candidate will partner with stakeholders and teams within Fund Services Operations in India & Philippines as well as the global teams, understand the direction of risk and control management practices, policies and standards, participate in appropriate programs and activities to future proof our business in an ever-changing global landscape. Risk and control acumen, stakeholder management, and collaboration are key to all aspects of this role.
Job Summary
OCM is part of the first line of defense with Operations on the control agenda. OCM is responsible for the oversight of the control environment for the Operations functions that support the business. OCM works in partnership with the Operations and Business Control Managers (BCM) to provide the business with a comprehensive view of control risk, acting as a trusted operations controls advisor on managing control, risk governance implementation and reporting.
Job Responsibilities
Targeted operational risk and control design reviews - identify and execute proactive process reviews and control deep dives based on data analysis, themes and trends, emerging risk. Risk identification and assessment - review risk event and errors internally and externally, where relevant, for themes and emerging risk. Facilitate the Daily Health Check (DHC) process - review issue root cause, provide guidance on corrective actions, ensure issue documentation and reporting timelines are met Audit and regulatory review coordination - coordinate interactions with audit, compliance and regulators through exam processes Monitoring the control environment - implement comprehensive operations risk metrics reporting and trigger-based escalation process Collaborate with LOB management and leadership teams locally & globally to deliver on the agreed control management goals & objectives. Strengthen collaboration with Global Control Managers to drive the control management agenda in a well-defined, seamless & consistent manner Perform risk and control self-assessment in line with organizational framework and ensure effectiveness of key controls Participate in governance of operational risks, escalating issues appropriately to line of business and Firmwide operating committees. Assist in ensuring continuous awareness and education on risk and control agendas through trainings, roadshows, sessions and expos
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Professionally qualified with 10+ years of relevant operations or risk & control experience. Knowledge of Security Services or Fund Services operations is preferred. Strong risk and control acumen and ability to assess operational risk and recommend control enhancements Ability to manage and lead complex risk & control management agenda with minimal supervision Demonstrates ability to think strategically with respect to data, technology, risk/control and compliance agendas Strong organizational & planning skills, problem solving and analytical skills with a proven track record of delivery Strong data orientation and ability to lead on data culture, practice development and tooling. Influencing & strong communication skills with the ability to work with others at all levels and across, locations and disciplines in a virtual organization
