Manage equipment upgrades to the latest technology Upgrade all ancillary systems and processes (e.g. spares, tooling, training) Continuously improve Plant process equipment and systems Support in Plant projects (new installations and improvements)                                                                                                      Provide process support Conduct machine and tool audits and generate reports Offer support on major breakdowns and be available on-call Support Team Leaders on performance evaluation links to the OEMS Ensure maximum reliability for process control instruments Provide fault finding and root cause analysis Identify and route out chronic failures Provide support and ensure planned and predictive equipment maintenance for the Plant. Cost Management Support in budget preparation and control Support in generating CAPEX requirements Drive cost efficiencies in the electrical areas SHEQ and housekeeping Ensure compliance with the relevant health & safety regulations and quality standards. Report all safety incidents and actions as per procedures Ensure all housekeeping standards are adhered to, and cleaning done after work

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

The primary role of the Packaging Engineer is to ensure the engineering integrity of the packaging plant. This includes responsibility for asset care, cost and performance control, overall reliability and “up-time” of the packaging lines and the provision of effective engineering support to the shift-based production teams, as well as the management of any outsourced maintenance services. 

Skills, Experience & Education Minimum requirement: Electronics Degree Added advantage: Automation/Instrumentation Degree or Higher National Diploma Two years experience of working knowledge with SCADA, S5 and B&R software’s
