The role
The Control, Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer will perform all Control, Instrumentation & Electrical (CI&E) tasks in support of winning and delivering large scale process-engineering themed projects for our key customers, ensuring that the business maintains its position as the world leader in the delivery of marine cargo handling and fuel gas systems for the transportation/storage of liquefied gas. End customers include major worldwide shipyards and ship owners.
 
Day to day you’ll:

Perform and coordinate calculations, data sheets, specifications, schedules, and drawings to meet project goals. Mentor graduate engineers. Contribute to safety assessments including HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, SIL, and LoPA. Promote openness, honesty, commitment, and continuous improvement.  Support health, safety, environmental, quality, and other company policies. Anticipate and mitigate problems. Potential for role development where appropriate into increased Warranty and Aftersales support where vessel visits would be required to troubleshoot equipment faults.

 

This role is full time, Monday to Friday and is based in Rosyth with hybrid working arrangements - 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home. 

 

Experience of the Control, Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer

CI&E Experience: Project and design engineering background. Process industry experience preferred, but would consider other industries such as water, wastewater, power, pharmaceutical, drinks or food industry. Adaptability: Meets deadlines, responds to client changes.  Design Engineering Skills: E&I control panel layout expertise.  PLC & HMI Expertise: Proven programming track record.  Safety Knowledge: IEC 60079 ATEX understanding, CompEx preferred.  Technical Proficiency: Siemens/Allen Bradley/GE IP familiarity, remote monitoring system protocol, FAT/site commissioning experience.


Qualifications of the Control, Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Preferably chartered or working towards accreditation. Demonstrable relevant experience Strong competency to be demonstrated across at least 2 of the 3 role technical disciplines; Control, Instrumentation and Electrical. 

 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
