Contracts Administrator
Job Descriptions: Aviation & Missile Solutions (AMS) is seeking a talented and experienced Contracts Administrator to join a diverse business operations team. Primarily located in Huntsville, AL, AMS provides responsive, cost-effective engineering and scientific solutions to the defense field. The Contracts Administrator will support Operations staff at AMS Headquarters with conducting contract negotiation and administration of routine contracts or subcontracts as well as reviewing performance requirements ensuring contract is in accordance with legal requirements, customer specifications, government regulations and company policies and practices. This position will also administer activities concerned with contracts for purchase or sale of equipment, materials, products, or services. Duties may include the following: + Negotiating contracts to include large services and engineering projects. + Researching, understanding, monitoring and administering the business provisions of assigned contracts to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions. + Monitoring project expenditures versus contract cost limitations. + Identifying contractual problems and taking appropriate action to ensure a satisfactory resolution. + Providing contractual guidance to internal customers. + Working with Operations staff to: + Support Proposals and Pricing with preparing requests for proposals (RFPs), obtaining subcontractor proposals, evaluating proposals, providing input for cost proposals, conducting fact finding, preparing cost and/or price analyses and participate in multi-facet negotiations. + Negotiate, administer, and manage complex subcontracts, high value procurements, and complex service subcontracts within price, schedule, and performance standards. + Provide direct subcontract support, review of contractual documents to ensure protection of company's contractual/risk posture, satisfaction of contractual requirements and adherence to company policies. + Work with Program Analysts to anticipate, plan, and implement actions necessary to ensure product quality, cost/budgets, schedules, technical and contractual performance internally as well as by subcontractors. Monitor and periodically report on cost, schedule and technical status of projects and recommend/implement corrective actions as required. + Track and administer prime and subcontractor modifications. Required Experience: Qualifications: Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in business from an accredited university. Candidate must have at least 5 years demonstrated experience in contract/subcontract administration. Candidate must be a US-only Citizen. Candidates must possess the following: + Contract administration experience with FAR, TINA, CAS and DFARS requirements is required to include negotiating complex contractual requirements. + Demonstrated proficiency with FAR, DFARS and its supplements, industry business best practices, and the negotiation of contracts. + Experience working effectively in a team environment. + Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills. Preferred: + Experience with EXPRESS contracts. + Working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint as associated with contract administration.
