Job Title: Contract Work and Family Programs Supervisor

Summary

Contract Work and Family Life Programs Supervisors oversee the provision of information and referral, one-on-one consultation and education/training in the Work and Family Life Programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide timely and effective program coordination and oversight of all Work and Family Life Programs functions Coordinate regularly with Government representatives and the Site Contract Staff Supervisor, where available, regarding staff schedules, performance, and quality of services provided by contract Work and Family Life Programs staff Participate in Government quality assurance activities Monitor contract Work and Family Life Programs staff training, compliance with contract performance standards and direct service productivity standards Ensure all information and referral, one-on-one, and group education services provided by Work and Family Life Programs staff are entered and counted in FFSMIS Ensure staff delivering Work and Family Life Programs account for all services scheduled and delivered in the automated Centralized Scheduling and Metrics system in use by the FFSP Provide Work and Family Life programs when completion of Work and Family Life supervisory and oversight responsibilities permit Provide support related to disaster preparedness and response Work individually with clients where appropriate Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities   

Manages supervisees at their assigned FFSC. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education and/or Experience Qualifications

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in social science or related behavioral science field OR a combination of social science education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree OR Four years’ equivalent experience Two years’ experience managing, coordinating or supervising the delivery of non-clinical, educational social services programs and services Experience making presentations and facilitating training for large and small groups

Required Qualifications

Knowledge of the formulation and execution of needs assessment tools Knowledge of the military and the challenges of the military lifestyle Skilled in providing individual education as well as group facilitation Knowledge of the tenets of adult education and the development of training curricula based on adult learning model Ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to use verbal and written communications effectively Ability to conduct program evaluations and use those evaluations to improve program effectiveness Ability to effectively manage other staff

Other Skills and Abilities 

This position requires access to U.S. Government facilities and systems. U.S. Citizenship, a valid driver's license, transportation, and auto insurance are required.

Physical Demands:  Works in office areas.  Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.   Uses personal computer, telephones, copiers, printers and other office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

This position may require overseas travel and training delivery at sea in support of the Return and Reunion Program.
