We are seeking an Intermediate Contracts Specialist to join our team in Richmond. The Intermediate Contracts Specialist will assist with the day-to-day management of contracts for both buy and sell side transactions, from procurement initiation through negotiation, award, execution, renewal, and closure.
ResponsibilitiesEvaluate terms and conditions of RFPs.Support formulation of contracts from scratch.Draft and review internal and external NDAs.Review and advise on commercial and contract terms from various external stakeholders.Negotiate terms and conditions across multifunctional teams including PMs, legal, operations, procurement, and end clients.Assist in reviewing and preparing external contract terms and conditions to minimize commercial risks.Support the planning and execution of all third-party contracts, including buy and sell side contracts, teaming, cooperation, confidentiality, and services agreements.Coordinate the application of governing terms internally, including technical Statements of Work, delivery schedules, Industrial and Technological Benefits, quality requirements, and the flow down of any customer terms and conditions, as applicable.Ensure internal cross-functional stakeholders are aware of all obligations to comply with contractual requirements.Understand third party obligations and identify to internal stakeholders where obligations are not being fulfilled.Support the business on all matters related to contractual transactions, based on understanding of the scope of work between the company and its customers, subcontractors, and other third parties.Assist with due diligence and compliance requirements.Support customer, subcontractor, and project reviews.Maintain accurate, accessible, and complete records of the company’s contractual commitments.Contribute to contract management best practices and initiatives to improve business performance and customer satisfaction.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in drafting, negotiation, and managing the full contract lifecycle (cradle to grave).Strong understanding of business law and commercial terms and conditions.Understanding of project management principles and how contracts fit into the project lifecycle.ERP experience (any ERP is acceptable, familiarity with LN is a plus).Basic proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.Reliability status: 5+ years in Canada without having left for 6 months.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong professional communication, both written and spoken.Ability to coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders.Self-starter with a high level of ownership and urgency to meet stakeholder and project demands.Problem-solving skills and ability to infer data.Familiarity with SACC (Standard Acquisition Clauses and Conditions), federal procurement processes, ITB (Industrial and Technological Benefits policy), CGP (Controlled Goods Program), ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), FAR/DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement).Experience within space/aerospace/defense/high tech sectors.Experience with PMIS (Project Management Information Systems) and contracts repository work.Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm local time, with 8-hour daily shifts. Work-from-home options are available on Wednesdays and Fridays, while office attendance is required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. A shuttle service is provided from Bridgeport Station to the office, and free parking is available. The role includes access to a subsidized café and an on-site gym. Benefits, including health, dental, vision, and drug coverage, begin on day one. Additional benefits such as chiropractic and massage therapy are also covered. The company contributes 5% per year of salary to an RRSP, with a one-year wait period. Overtime is eligible and can be either paid or banked, subject to managerial approval. Employees undergo yearly merit and performance reviews.
