Position Summary
The Contract Analyst, International Research position is responsible for managing, reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of contracts, inbound subawards and sponsored research agreements that support the university's international research initiatives. These activities are executed under the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) Contracts and Collaborations Office (CO). The Contract Analyst, International Research is responsible for a specific sponsored projects portfolio that includes select NYU schools conducting research internationally, including the Abu Dhabi and Shanghai campuses. This position plays a critical role in advancing NYU’s global research mission by facilitating impactful international collaborations, ensuring compliance with international and domestic regulations, and providing customer-focused support to NYU faculty and administrators for research contracts, grant awards, and collaboration agreements. This role carries out the core functions of the CO by creating and establishing agreements on behalf of NYU that conform with university and sponsor guidelines. The Contract Analyst, International Research interprets and communicates sponsor expectations and requirements to research administrators and faculty, ensuring agreements are properly administered. Additionally, the Contract Analyst, International Research is responsible for reporting on NYU’s support from foreign entities, including coordinating reporting under Section 117 of the Higher Education Act and NSF Foreign Financial Disclosure Requirements (FFDR), in partnership with the Office of International Research, the Office of General Counsel, and other administrative units.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Master's Degree
Required Experience:
5+ years Experience in drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts, in an academic or research setting, familiarity with sponsored programs and international collaborations.
Preferred Experience:
5+ years Experience drafting, negotiating, and managing a variety of contract types, including agreements with foreign entities; understanding of international contracting requirements and regulatory compliance
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
A strong understanding of contract management and research compliance within a complex university environment; familiarity with international contracts and collaborations; experience reviewing, analyzing and negotiating contract terms and conditions; an understanding of contract boilerplate language appropriate to institutions of higher education; exceptional critical reading, writing, and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex terms and identify potential risks in contracts; demonstrate initiative, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; commitment to personal and professional growth, contributing to the ongoing development of the organization and its mission.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Possess specific expertise in international contracting and knowledge of, and experience with, international, federal, and state laws, and government regulations as applied to international engagement and the ability to apply that knowledge to new, emergent situations and priorities. Familiarity with federal regulations, including Uniform Guidance, export controls, and international requirements related to data security, research involving human subjects, and animals. Ability to work well independently or collaboratively; committed to understanding international cultural norms and customs to support and promote openness and diversity in NYU research activities. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00 to USD $130,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
