Continuous Improvement Specialist

The COS Continuous Improvement Leaders is the CSL support for COS continuous improvement efforts for the Carlisle Divisions. This individual will work closely with the COS CSL Global Directors, Division COS Directors, COS teams and leaders. The assignments will focus on the improvement of plant safety, ensuring on-time deliveries, product quality, cost management and continuous improvement. Standard work hours Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm with occasional overtime and weekends required. Travel requirements 50% - 80% of time throughout the year.

Duties and Responsibilities: Support the division’s COS journey to establish a culture of continuous improvement, employee engagement and the delivery of financial and operational Analyze current state, using tools such as Value Stream Mapping and gap analysis, to identify and correct opportunities relative to continuous improvement. Partner with leadership to align COS with business needs. Identify and communicate best practices throughout the organization. Identify and implement product line and plant Kaizen events with the purpose of coaching/training Carlisle operations employees, developing lean leaders, and developing problem solvers. Work with manufacturing locations to increase the value realized from initiatives such as SQDC Visual Management, 5S, Idea System, TPM and the COS Framework. Conduct formal training on COS principles and Work with all operations levels to implement and evaluate progress in the COS Framework in plants within the product line. Partner with operations leaders to leverage COS to drive product line and plant OpEx, and business goals. Participation in and assisting with COS steering committees and leadership Coaching, training and mentoring operations leaders and employees in COS principles, tools, methods, and behaviors. Guidance, direction, development, training and assistance to plant COS resources and champions Assisting with the identification, scoping, facilitation, and sustainment of improvement events (Kaizen) to drive business unit results. Coordinating COS programs and initiatives in the product line such as VTPs, Idea System, 5S, SQDC Visual Management. Establish measurable standards for each facilitated project and sustain results with regularly meetings, reports, and standards. Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Essential Full Performance Knowledge –Manufacturing basics, administration basics. Applicant must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Presentation skills for classroom/workshop type training as well as training at the workstation or in a shop-floor environment. Must be able to think and perform in front of group settings to effectively facilitate group discussion and problem solving. Must be able to work effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 Occasional overtime or weekends Travel requirements 50%- 80% of time throughout the year.
