Content Editor, Amazon Benefits

In this role, you will be responsible for editing and ensuring the quality of global benefits content across major channels that span multiple teams at Amazon. You will manage the lifecycle of important employee-facing benefits short and long-form content, from business-as-usual updates to the implementation of content transformation initiatives. You will respond to customer requests to create and update content in our content management system, aligning with process and policy changes within delivery timelines. Based on direction from content strategists, product designers, researchers, and benefits managers, you will craft intuitive, user-focused content that helps employees navigate the product, understand their available options, take necessary actions, and resolve issues. You will develop and maintain comprehensive style guides, ensuring a seamless and consistent experience end-to-end.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and technical aptitude. Excellent judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders are essential. Curiosity about how things work, willingness to learn fast, and take full ownership of your domain are crucial. Key job responsibilities
- Perform all levels of content editing including structural editing, copyediting, and proofreading while adapting to appropriate styles for each content type and channel.
- Respond to customer requests to create and update content in our content management system in line with process and policy changes within defined delivery timelines.
- Support the expansion of internal benefits products to all regions and countries through the creation of content that considers international needs.
- Review and editing written content, such as articles, policies, assets, or content fragments for grammar and spelling, accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Identify opportunities to reuse content in a headless content environment to reduce the manual effort required to maintain duplicate information in multiple places.
- Work with cross-organizational stakeholders to publish content for complex features, including setting deadlines, assigning tasks, managing dependencies, escalating risks, and ensuring timely publication of materials.
- Identify areas of potential improvement to content management workflows and systems, working closely with global team and product management on improvements and new, as well as proposing and testing workarounds for known system issues.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive copywriting guidelines and style guides.
- Inform content strategy to enhance the customer experience based on research, content gaps, and existing content performance.
- Audit existing content and analyze data to maintain high standards of quality and consistency across all content.
- Establish and maintain a tone of voice aligned with the Amazon brand, tailored to employees.
