Your New Role…

As a CNN Image+Sound Production Services member, you will contribute to creating a great work environment where you can grow in your career and be part of a high performing team that delivers quality journalism for CNN worldwide. Our team provides 24/7 production and editorial expertise to support CNN’s storytelling.

The Image+Sound Content Coordinator acts as point of contact for CNN’s incoming content. With the non-stop news cycle, a Content Coordinator maintains oversight of our active recording systems. They are making decisions on when, where and how assets are recording. They are ensuring metadata is accurate and descriptive for better searching and archiving while keeping encoder space at an optimal level.

Your Role Accountabilities…

The Content Coordinator is editorially in tune with the day’s stories, starting the production process by recording and ingesting content for all CNN platforms. Our team is agile – moving fast when needed to ensure that the video is captured correctly. The Content Coordinator creates connections with their colleagues, and business partners around the globe.

· The Content Coordinator is responsible for oversight of our NewsApps Record system and managing the recording space in the various cities while proactively recording content needed for partners.

· You will react to errors on the system and problem solve when they arise to record what is needed for the business.

· You will collaborate with CNN employees worldwide on content requests for all CNN Platforms to make sure metadata is accurate and descriptive.

· You are a resource for our News Associates as they are reacting to requests coming in through multiple applications.

· You will often be the first set of eyes and ears on critical new elements.

· The Content Coordinator communicates professionally with others.

· You will collaborate regularly with I+S Production Technology teams.

· You are required to escalate issues to other team members and management when they arise.

· As CNN is a 24/7/365 newsroom you will be working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications & Experience…

· Two (2) years of editorial experience in news or video production and a solid news awareness required.

· A strong curiosity for current and historic events.

· Knowledge of how newscasts are put together and what is required to get video where it needs to go.

· Familiarity of how content management systems work.

· Effective written and oral communication skills this includes the ability to analyze and communicate editorial details as it specifically applies to video.

· Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment, deliver excellent work under deadline pressure and remain focused for long periods of time.

· Ability to use and communicate effectively across various applications like Slack, Zoom and Microsoft Teams. As well as have a strong understanding of Microsoft Office suite.

· Proven organizational skills.

· A motivation to grow and adapt to a rapidly changing business.

· Bachelor's degree (typically in liberal arts such as journalism, English, political science) or demonstrated on the job experience.

· Language skills are also highly valued.

· Agility in work environment. The I+S Content Coordinator, at times, works in an open workspace environment, or remotely via a company provided laptop.

· This position is 24x7x365 and is based in Atlanta.
