Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as aContainer Coordinatorto join our team located in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The successful candidate will obtain qualification as Central Characterization Program (CCP) Container Coordinator and will coordinate container feedstock between the Host Site and CCP characterization activities. Responsible for maintaining the inventory utilizing several data bases. Inspects containers in accordance with CCP procedures prior to containers being introduced into CCP characterization processes. Maintains production reports and tracks the status of containers through the CCP characterization process. Participates in internal and external assessments as required. Assists the CCP Vendor Project Manager with other administrative and record keeping duties as required. This position will work Monday through Thursday 6:30am to 5:00pm. Non-Exempt Grade Level(s) (28-30) Minimum Requirements:These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience. Preferred Requirements: + Proficiency using spreadsheets is preferred. + Prior experience in a position requiring focus and attention to detail in a procedure driven work environment is a plus. + Performing operations at a DOE nuclear facility is desired. + Previous WIPP Project or CCP experience is a plus.
