As Technical Consulting Director – EIA, you will lead and develop our environmental consulting practice for offshore wind projects in Germany. You will work closely with project developers, regulatory authorities, and internal technical experts, ensuring that offshore renewable projects achieve environmental compliance, sustainability excellence, and successful permitting outcomes.
About the role:
Lead and oversee Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for offshore wind and related infrastructure projects.Act as the primary client interface on EIA matters, advising clients on environmental strategy, permitting pathways, and stakeholder engagement.Coordinate with technical, engineering, and permitting teams across project phases (development, construction, operations).Represent the company in technical hearings, regulatory consultations, and industry working groups.Develop business strategies to grow the EIA consulting practice, including thought leadership, service development, and key account management.Monitor emerging environmental legislation and standards affecting offshore renewable energy.Manage project budgets, proposals, and contract negotiations related to EIA services.About you:
Master's or Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or related field.Minimum 10+ years in environmental consulting, with 5+ years specifically focused on offshore wind or offshore infrastructure projects.Proven experience managing EIAs and permitting for large-scale renewable projects in Germany or the EU.Knowledge of key environmental topics: marine biodiversity, birds, marine mammals, underwater noise, fisheries impacts, and cumulative impact assessment.Deep understanding of German marine permitting (e.g., Planfeststellungsverfahren) and relevant EU directives (EIA Directive, Habitats Directive, Water Framework Directive).Excellent written and verbal communication skills (German and English proficiency required).Business development acumen and proposal writing expertise.Benefits:
