What you'll be doing
You will be joining CIBC’s Finance Technology Line of Business (LOB). In this role, you will actively engage in all facets of the systems testing process and offer recommendations to ensure that client requirements are met with the utmost quality. As a Program QA Lead on CIBC’s Technology team, you will be responsible for assigning and supervising the execution of test cases while also providing guidance to your team members. Your responsibilities will include creating test plans, developing strategies, and providing estimates that contribute to the creation of the bank of the future. The Consultant, IT Quality Assurance will be tasked with formulating project test strategies and plans, as well as overseeing testing activities for projects and initiatives in alignment with established controls and standards. The role works on complex issues involving one or more technical areas, mentoring employees and performing tasks of advanced technical depth and breadth. The Consultant, IT Quality Assurance troubleshoots issues for all levels, identifying project testing approaches and methods for incorporation into the testing plan, and execution to assign test work packages, and lead testing teams. The role exercises independent judgement and decision making within ownership of projects and milestones, analyzing and resolving unusual testing challenges to facilitate decision making with client and senior management. The role devises new methods and procedures using strong analytic and inductive thinking.

How you'll succeed
Testing expertise – Lead the investigation and translation of business requirements into test cases. Design and manage end-to-end testing activities for various projects across the business. Use your expertise in software development testing to provide clients with quality products that meet business and system requirements.
Leadership skills – Provide advice to your team, including ongoing feedback, support, and mentorship. Proactively identify any potential issues throughout all test phases, and suggest possible improvements or enhancements.
Project coordination – Identify obstacles or risks that may impact a project’s timeline or success and provide regular status updates to the business. Keep the lines of communication open with stakeholders, and escalate issues when necessary. Ensure that all test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned to your project’s timeline, budget and goals.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate strong experience in software development testing through 3 - 5 years of experience in data warehouse and ETL testing. You have knowledge and experience using Oracle, TOAD, PL/SQL, Designing Automation scripts using advanced Excel skills. You have experience of working as Program QA Lead for big initiatives.
It’s an advantage if you have experience in Mainframe, PeopleSoft, SAP, Azure, working with Hyperion Essbase (cube testing), JCL scripting on OS/390 systems, Designing Automation scripts using Python, TOSCA, and if you worked with multiple IT platforms and different types of testing.
