Role Summary

The Consultant, Corporate Actions is responsible for processing / verifying all forms of corporate events. You will oversee corporate actions processes, from announcement, market research, instruction and processing.   This will require a client specific focus at all times, promoting a positive client relationship through day to day query management and engaging in potential/new client activities.  In addition, you will be required to support  BAU activity of the team.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to maintain a high level of concentration and keep to a consistent client focus. You will also work closely with other departments within the organization such as Trade Processing & Control, Client Administration & Reporting, Data Management and Pricing just to name a few. 

This role reports to Manager, Corporate Actions.

What you will do

Support new business growth through prospect presentations,  RFPs and client onboardingsMay attend service reviews / due diligence as required and be able to present to the client to discuss corporate actions service and deliveryProcess or verify high risk Corporate Action activity end to end including instructing custodiansProactively seek market data via various market sources to ensure the most timely update of entitlements to client accounts. Monitor events processed by local teams (and offshore teams where applicable) to ensure service meets clients needs, and oversee any adhoc client requests, including Income and Corporate GovernanceProvide training, day-to-day support and coaching to Corporate Actions AnalystsProvide input into client specific solutions should teams be faced with additional client requests or demandsLiaise with partners in other global locations to ensure consistency in service.Manage client specific KPIs and document client based errors and working with the team manager, review the effectiveness of any subsequent remedial plansEnsuring all reconciliation breaks are investigated, narrated and resolved in a timely mannerAssist with the collation of statistical data to upper management to provide a snapshot of volume, or for historical periods normally the previous month either on an ad hoc basis or by scheduled deadlinesActively participate in team discussions that lead to quality, resource and target orientated improvementsRegular review of procedures covering the servicing of the client with a continuous improvement mindset

Your Knowledge/Skills

In-depth understanding of a wide range of mandatory and voluntary Corporate Action event types across global markets and across all instrument types plus knowledge of related areasKnowledge of Investment Operations Outsourcing (desirable)Understanding of fund manager client requirementsAbility to manage client expectations, meet deadlines and communicate effectively and proactively on a day to day basis with the clientStrong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasksExcellent team player demonstrating the ability to work as part of a team, progressing towards shared goalsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsStrong communication and relationship management skillsMust be organised and have the ability to pay close attention to detail and work on own initiativeBe proactive when encountering new challengesWilling to carry out complex or high profile activities e.g. direct interaction with client and senior management. Relevant work experience in Corporate Actions within Custody/Investment OutsourcingA College or University degree (desirable)
